Sail away in paradise
Sailing around the 1,000 kilometres of coastline that Corsica has to offer is a spectacular way to spend your holiday. Boat charters are a popular way for tourists to explore the island and there are plenty of opportunities to charter a yacht complete with a skipper and crew or a boat trip from the port if you prefer. At Corsican Places, we do not arrange boat charters for customers, however, a boat trip during your holiday is definitely recommended! There are boat trips available throughout the islands and your local representative will be able to assist you in finding one that suits your preferences.
Boat trips allow visitors to Corsica a chance to soak up the local culture, with visits to local seaside towns and villages, of which there are many. Soak up the dramatic cliffs, hidden coves and azure waters, perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving.
A popular area to visit by boat is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Gulf of Porto, with plenty of magnificent coastlines you'll be spoilt for choice as to where to moor up for an hour or two! Other areas well worth sailing around, are Calvi in the north west and Bonifacio in the south, where there are pretty secluded bays and interesting medieval fortresses.
In many seaside towns and villages, you will be able to find companies offering day trips by boat at the marinas. These are often full-day excursions with lunch and refreshments included and they make for a wonderful day out for families and couples alike. You will have the opportunity to see many beauty hotspots along the coast, and even the chance to swim and snorkel in these beautiful areas.
