Propriano

With its array of tempting restaurants and buzzing café terraces lining the marina, Propriano, located in Valinco, is a popular resort oozing a real traditional feel and relaxed atmosphere – the perfect place to lounge, indulge yourself with a lazy lunch or simply watch the world go by. It is also an important departure point for boat trips and water sports.

Olmeto

Olmeto is situated on an incline of hills with a grandstand view over Propriano. It is a quielty captivating village and one in which it's possible to feel the old Corsica rising from between the cobbles and in the tilted gables of the houses. What attracts visitors today is the charm, the village life of shops and cafés, and, of course, the fantastic view of the area from Olmeto's two main streets. Our properties are in the area close to the beach and are both accessible yet with a quiet, rural feel.

Things to See & Do

  • Between the headlands of Capo di Muro and Campomoro lies the Gulf of Valinco. The bay stretches along the rugged west coast from the sleepy, laid back village of Porto Pollo to Campomoro, interspersed with white sand beaches of varied shapes and sizes, all with clear waters superb for swimming and snorkelling.
  • Propriano has a couple of good beaches - Plage du Lido and Plage du Corsaire - and sailing, diving and other water sports are popular here. Restaurants line the port and there is a great deal of choice and you can also take boat trips out into the Gulf from a number of operators along the harbourside.
  • Situated with a grandstand view over Propriano, nearby Olmeto is a captivating village with an interesting past. What attracts visitors today is the view from the village's two main streets.
  • Head for the hills behind Propriano and discover a natural playground of waterfalls and natural rock pools. It's also a great spot for canyoning.
  • At the tip of the bay an old Genoese watchtower overlooks the pretty seaside village and golden sandy beach of Campomoro, beyond which lay ahead to the south one of the wildest coastlines in Corsica.
  • Sartène is said to be the most Corsican of Corsican towns is a brooding place of tall buildings and narrow, cobbled alleyways. Famous for its local wines you can experience the culture at first hand.
  • The Valinco area is rich in history. Visit the magnificent archaeological site of Filitosa whose famous sculpted menhirs always attract a few visitors. Other magnificent sites are more likely to be found by accident, so well are they hidden in the unique Corsican heathland, the maquis.
  • Discover the beautiful beach of Cupabia, north of Porto Pollo - one of the most scenic of the Valinco's region or venture further afield and walk along the Capo di Muro and find a string a little creeks.
