May

Festimare - L'Ile Rousse

A celebration of the sea. In addition to fish and seafood produce, there are many activities for children as well as scientific stands, competitions, exhibitions and workshops.

July

Fiera di San Petru - Lumio

A village festival with exhibitions celebrating stonemasonry and stone-related crafts, together with the knives and cutlery still made in the village from iron ore mined on Cap Corse.

Foire de L’Alivu - Montegrosso - July

Around 10,000 visitors honour the olive in a delightful olive grove setting with exhibitions demonstrating olive production over the years and artisans selling refreshments and local produce.

Bastille Day - 14th July

A nationwide celebration to commemorate the French Revolution and the end of the 'Ancien Regime' with various parades, night time animations and firework displays.

August

Foire de l’Amandier - Aregno - early August

Just along the coast from Calvi, in the Balagne village of Aregno, the Foire de l’Amandier includes tastings, painting exhibitions, events for children and cooking contests all based around the almond and its trees.

Fiera di l’Artigiani - Felicetu

The craftsmen of the Strada di l’Artigiani congregate to celebrate their crafts.

Fiera di u Sumere - Sant’Antonino

Celebrating the donkey, the only form of transport in the cobbled winding streets of this mountain village. Take a donkey ride around the village to view the picturesque surroundings and magnificent views.

Foire De Saint Roch - Renno

The “mountain days” offers a varied programme: films, exhibitions, music, singing, dancing, theatre and debates with writers.

 

Music & Arts Festivals

 

May

Festival des 3 cultures - Calvi

Held every three years this festival travels between Ciboure in the Basque country, Collioure in Catalonia and Calvi. There are street entertainers, concerts and sporting events.

June

Fête de la Musique - June

Numerous free live music events are held each year across the island.

June – September

Estivoce - Pigna - early July

More traditionally, Estivoce, in and around Pigna, is a celebration of Corsican music and arts with concerts of polyphonic music from June to September with many of the celebrations being in July.

July

Calvi On The Rocks - Early July

Youthful electronic music and digital arts festival with nightly concert in the Citadel.

July & August

Rencontres Théatrales de Haute-Corse - Olmi Cappella

A theatre festival built around many workshops involving amateurs and professionals culminating with plays performed throughout the villages of the Guissani.

August

Festival du film Européen - Lama

The Lama European festival of Cinema and the Rural World offer open-air projections in the heart of the Corsican mountains. Feature films and short films, conferences, photo exhibitions, projections of animated films come to meet the rural world. 

Rencontres Musicales, Classiques & Contemporaines - Calenzana August

Nightly concerts either outdoors or in some of the ancient buildings in the village.

September

Rencontres Polyphoniques - Calvi - September

Polyphonic singing is at the heart of Corsican culture and singers from around the world perform in the Citadel at the Rencontres Polyphoniques de Calvi.
