Corsica Airports

There are three airports on the island we fly into: Calvi, Bastia and Figari, each providing excellent access to the main resorts. They are small and functional airports with a limited range of facilities.

Calvi Airport

Calvi Sainte-Catherine airport is six miles east of Calvi, Haute Corse in the north west of Corsica. As a small provincial airport all facilities are within walking distance.

Calvi Airport has very limited facilities – there is a small café and a tabac with a very small selection of magazines, sweets and souvenirs. WCs are directly opposite from the café. There is no pharmacy or cash point or any facility for changing money and there are no duty-free shops at the airport. Please note that Calvi airport requires special pilot training and flights cannot land outside of daylight hours or in windy conditions and flights will be diverted to the larger airport at Bastia if conditions or crewing issues dictate. Check in desks open two hours before the flight departure time. Should you need help with anything, Corsican Places Representatives will be at the airport.

Airport Facilities

  • Tourist information desk
  • Taxis outside arrivals hall
  • Car rental services
  • Café
  • Tabac / newstand
  • WCs

Special Assistance

Special assistance is offered at the airport with wheelchairs and both the Departure and Arrival halls are on ground floor level.

What To Expect From The Airport

On arrival at Calvi, you will walk from the aircraft to the terminal building. There will be French passport control.

Once you have gone through passport control and collected your luggage, our ‘Corsican Places’ representative will be waiting to welcome you and will point you in the direction of the vehicle which will be transporting you to your accommodation or to the car hire desk.

What To Expect At The Airport When Returning To The UK

All baggage dimensions and security procedures also apply when returning from Calvi to the UK. Please ensure you follow the same guidelines and place any liquid items within your hold baggage. The departures lounge has limited seating, WCs and no shopping facilities.

There are a couple of small souvenir shops that are not always open for Sunday departures and there is a cash point. The WCs are downstairs and you need a coin for the concierge. There are no duty-free shops at the airport. Check in desks open two hours before the flight departure time.

Figari sud Corse Airport

Figari sud Corse Airport is situated three kilometres to the north west of the village of Figari, Corse du Sud, (southern Corsica).

The airport is around 25km from Porto Vecchio and 21km from Bonifacio. It has one café/bar with both indoor and outdoor seating, a small souvenir shop and a tabac. There are no duty-free shops at the airport. Should you need help with anything, Corsican Places Representatives will be at the airport.

As public transport is very limited in Corsica, hiring a car is accepted as the best method of getting about. We recommend that you pre-book your hire car as availability is limited and the rates you will pay on arrival are higher than pre-booking.
