May is a great time of the year to spend a holiday in Corsica. In this blog post, we discuss all the benefits of visiting the island at this time of year.
Ideal for those who can't wait until the summer to visit beautiful and captivating Corsica, May serves as a wonderful month for holidaying on the island. Whether you want to go away as a couple, with a group of friends or with the entire family as you enjoy a half-term break, the island is a treasure trove of action, adventure and discovery throughout the month of May.
The island is truly a feast for the eyes at this time of year. Scenic colours fill the landscapes, with snow-capped mountains towering in the distance, above the maquis that carpet the surrounding hills, while wild flowers grow throughout the natural locations of the island. The air is warm, though it isn't too hot, making outdoor exploring one of the best ways to discover the island in May.
The roads are also far quieter during May than in other times of the year, so getting out and about to explore in your hired car is a tantalising prospect. The quieter roads also make cycling a much more enjoyable activity, especially for those into mountain biking who will enjoy some of the most stunning views enjoyed all year from the peaks of inland Corsica.
May is also the cheapest time of year to travel to the island, as well as being perfect for dodging the summer crowds. You'll enjoy greater availability when it comes to flights, accommodation and activities too, so you'll find yourself much less likely to be disappointed by missing out on your favourite villa and flight time, or a seat at your desired eatery.
