Our expert's just love the cuisine on offer throughout Corsica, and with Calvi being an extremely popular place to holiday, we thought we would share a few favourites in this beautiful town.
We thought we would share some feedback from our guests and colleagues about their restaurant experiences in the great town of Calvi – there are so many to choose from it would take so many visits to try them all!
Restaurant Santa Maria, Rue Clemenceau
Sitting right in front of the historic Église Sainte-Marie de Calvi is the aptly named restaurant Santa Maria. In the heart of town, soak up the evening vibe of the cobbled streets and the atmosphere of this buzzing characterful square whilst eating an excellent meal and watching the world go by. The octopus special was amazing!
The Table by La Villa, Hotel La Villa
The on-site restaurant of one of our treasured hotels, this restaurant is so calm and serene, looking out over the pool and sea beyond, with the historic citadel in the background, sip pre and post-dinner drinks at the table or in one of the lounge chairs dotted around the grounds and sample the exquisite gastronomic menu offering simple and elegant tasty dishes. Allow extra time for perusing the wine list! One for a special occasion…
Golfe Taverne, Quay Landry
With a panoramic view of the mega yachts and whatever is going on at the marina, this excellent café/bar/tavern has the comfiest seats out of many offerings along the quayside. Open all afternoon and evening serving salads, charcuterie plates, burgers, paninis and ice creams, as well as local and non-local beers and cocktails – many hours can be spent whiling away the sights and sounds of everything holiday during your days' wanderings around Calvi, or just a great pit-stop to refuel.
A Funtana, Blvd Wilson
Sat in a raised square above Boulevard Wilson, A Funtana is a smart restaurant terrace a little further back from the port. Its menu is mainly Italian with pizzas and pasta options, bruschettas and fresh fish dishes. With cocktails and desserts as well as a decent local wine list it's great for lunch or dinner without heading down to where the crowds are!
