Corsica makes a magical setting for a range of events each year, including fabulous music festivals, tasty food fairs and colourful historic commemorations.
Many of the main events in the island’s calendar have confirmed their dates for 2017. Here are some of the highlights.
A Fiera di U Casgiu in Venaco - 29th & 30th April 2017
This cheese and local produce fair in Venaco, in central Corsica, as seen on Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escapes, is always a big hit with food lovers.This type of rural event gives a fantastic insight into the Corsican people and traditions.

Fête de la Musique - 21st June 2017
Numerous live music events are held on this date each year across the island and throughout France. And every one of them is FREE.

Calvi on the Rocks - 30th June to 5th July 2017
Youthful electronic music and digital arts festival with nightly concerts in the citadel and parties on the beach.
Bastille Day - 14th July 2017
Parades, night time animations and firework displays commemorate the French Revolution and the end of the 'Ancien Régime' across France.
Les Nuits de la Guitare in Patrimonio - 18th to 25th July 2017
This popular festival takes place every July and draws guitar stars from a range of musical genres including jazz, flamenco, blues and rock. Recent guest performers include Jeff Beck, Joe Cocker, George Benson and Simple Minds. It is held in the atmospheric amphitheatre in the village of Patrimonio, Cap Corse.
Estivoce in Pigna – July 2017
Running throughout June to September, peaking in July, this celebration of Corsican music and arts is held in and around the hilltop village of Pigna in La Balagne region.

Porto Latino in St Florent - 4th to 7th August 2017
Open-air concerts in St Florent Citadel will have you dancing to hot Latin rhythms over four days in August.
Festival de la Musique in Erbalunga - 10th to 13th August 2017
An established music festival in Erbalunga, Cap Corse, showing off some of the greatest national and local talents.
Les Fêtes Napoléoniennes in Ajaccio - 13th to 15th August 2017
A celebration of the birthday of Corsica's most famous son with historic processions and fireworks in the island’s capital on the west coast.
Rencontres Polyphoniques de Calvi - September 2017
Musicians and choirs from different genres from around the world, join forces with Corsican polyphonic singing group A Filetta, for a series of extraordinary concerts culminating in a day of music at various locations in and around Calvi Cathedral.
