Whether it's a city break, a new adventure or a relaxing escape you're after, here are the best places to stay in and around Bastia.

With easy access to the rugged Cap Corse and its beautiful fishing villages such as Erbalunga, Bastia and the surrounding areas are filled with natural beauty and wonderful adventures. You can, of course, take some time to relax on the nearby sandy beaches if you want a day to unwind, but to give you a taste of what kind of holidays you could enjoy during an escape to northern Corsica, here's some of our best places to stay in Bastia.

Exploring Bastia, Cap Corse and St Florent

Bastia

Hugging Corsica's north-east coast, Bastia is the destination's second-largest city, and a wonderful base for immersing yourself in local life. From the town's old port to Place St Nicholas and the Governor's Palace, plus a whole host of atmospheric restaurants and charming cafés to enjoy, Bastia is a wonderful choice for a short stay in Corsica.

Plage de l'Arinella is a lovely spot for those keen to soak up some rays, which can be found just south of the city. A wide strip of soft sand, with a small selection of eateries, it's a wonderful spot for couples to relax and families to do some sandcastle building. View our top 10 things to do in Bastia for more inspiration on what you can discover in the town.

Cap Corse

Just to the north of Bastia is the Cap Corse peninsula, one of the island's most rugged and untouched regions. Home to a smattering of quaint fishing villages and traditional towns such as Erbalunga (just a 20-minute drive from Bastia), a little exploration around parts of this region is particularly rewarding for those in search of rugged natural scenery and dramatic coastline. St Florent

40 minutes west of Bastia is the popular resort of St Florent. A picturesque harbour lined with luxury yachts, backed by narrow cobbled streets revealing bustling squares, this resort is a lovely place to enjoy some great al fresco dining, whilst soaking up the sunshine. There are some beautiful beaches nearby too, such as La Roya. Discover more through our top 10 things to do in St Florent blog post.
