The situation is unspoilt and peaceful, and varied walking and exploring can start in the chestnut forests, which surround the village. There is swimming in the hotel’s pool, from where there are exceptional views of the mountains. Guests can also swim in river pools nearby, or on the beach at Porto, only 45 minutes’ drive away. L’Aitone has a restaurant serving excellent traditional Corsican food.
