Palavesa is the perfect spot for relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of central Porto Vecchio, which can in the height of summer be quite busy. Head towards the mountains where horse riding or trekking, climbing and walking can be found nearby, a highlight for a moderate walk being to the ‘Piscia di Gallo’ or Cockerel waterfall. If you are looking for watersports, windsurfing, kayaking and diving can all be found on various child friendly beaches on the coast, just 10 minutes drive away.

Located close to Porto Vecchio, the villa would suit a family or a group of friends wishing to enjoy the south of the island, particularly as the plot of land and pool area is shared with one of our other properties, Villa Solea. I thought this was great, comfortable accommodation and a lovely pool area, which is modern with decking and a shower.

We found all the amenities within a short drive - shops, the supermarket and the beach. The best beaches were within a 15 minutes drive; Palombaggia beach is particularly beautiful with shallow, clear waters.

We had a bit of alfresco dining at the barbeque area surrounded by the gorgeous scenery with the mountains. There are walks you can do in and around the area as well if you fancy it. At night it is very peaceful apart from the owls, which can be heard but we couldn't ever see the noisy little things
