Why Visit Corsica?

Corsica is our closest Mediterranean island & has something for everyone.

A fantastic climate, activities to suit all tastes, some serious food and wine, plus gently shelving sandy beaches - ideal for families.

Stunning Scenery

Around a third of the island is National Park and it has the highest mountains and most rivers of any Mediterranean island. Corsica's highest peaks reach nearly 3,000 metres with around twenty peaks over 2,000 metres. A unique island, the Greeks named it "Kalliste" - the most beautiful - and at times, this mountain in the Med, with its rich and aromatic flora, certainly takes your breath away.

Spectacular in spring, luxuriant Mediterranean 'maquis' covers this mountain in the sea. A heady heath land mix of juniper, wild thyme and rosemary, rockrose, broom, fennel, myrtle, thistle and heather and one of the richest types of vegetation in the Mediterranean, Corsican maquis has an unforgettable perfume that can be sensed on the breeze.

The varied coastline is dotted with sailing ports, seaside resorts, vast sandy beaches and unspoilt creeks that contrast with the green inland vegetation made up of forest and "maquis". Coastal towns bustle against a stage-set of quiet villages in the mountains and crystal clear waters that lap Corsica's shore. The 960 kilometres of uncrowded coastline are an irresistible invitation to sample the pleasures of the sea. You will find some wonderful beaches, some say the best in the Med, with sand of every shade from white through to gold.
