Corsica
The British holiday market to Corsica is changing, with fewer charter flights to the island this year. So more visitors will be arriving on low-cost flights, turning their backs on full packages and having more flexible breaks.
Corsica has lovely sandy beaches, attractive resorts and a dramatic mountainous interior. The drawback is that prices are higher than on much of the mainland.
Our selection
The leading specialist is Corsican Places (0845 330 2113; www.corsica.co.uk ), which has been selling holidays to the island for 23 years. It has an excellent choice of villas with private pools, apartments and hotels, and its own charter Gatwick-Calvi flights (the only flights there from Britain); accommodation-only bookings possible this year.
