A designated ‘Family Collection’ of properties is a new addition for 2009 for specialist travel company Corsican Places.
By its very nature Corsica is a low-stress family destination. Approximately just a two-hour flight from the UK, this Mediterranean island offers a comfortable climate and wealth of unspoilt and gently shelving beaches.
Family-friendly properties with that little bit extra have resulted in the tour operator compiling its own ‘Family Collection’, which is certain to please parents and children alike.
Well-appointed with a minimum of a swimming pool, television with DVD player and a microwave, the selected properties are also equipped with buckets and spades, beach umbrella and a cool box for picnics on the beach.
There are 17 ‘Family Collection’ properties within the Corsican Places’ portfolio.
These include the three-bedroom Villa Ogliastrelli in La Balagne, in the North of the island.
Set on the hillside below the pretty village of Lumio, this spacious single-story villa has large, enclosed gardens, table tennis and a barbeque. Arinella Plage, just a short drive downhill, offers a small, sandy beach, as well as rocky coves, which are particularly suitable for snorkelling.
An alternate option from Corsican Places includes Residence I Luminelli, two-bedroom mini-villas with an enclosed pool in the Porto Vecchio region. Situated just a short drive from some of the best beaches in Corsica (including Palombaggia), these properties are especially well suited to families with young children.
