Ferry travel is a much more relaxed and pleasant experience compared to flying, the Passenger Shipping Association has said.
William Gibbons, director of the organisation, explained that when taking a ferry guests have the chance to relax before their holiday begins.
Taking a car onto a ferry also cuts out any of the stress associated with flying.
"You don't have to worry about parking your car at the airport, transfers to the airport," he said.
