Corsica is proving to be a "discreet" alternative to breaks in the South of France, according to one travel writer.
Writing in the New York Times, Seth Sherwood explained that the island offers a more relaxed alternative to places like St Tropez and the Cote d'Azur.
Patrice Arend, who owns an antiques store in Bonifacio, said: "In Corsica, you have none of the artificiality of the Cote d'Azur."
"A lot of famous people come here, but they come so that they can be incognito."
