Beyond its beaches and sports activities, visitors come to Corsica for its soul, its culture and traditions.
Lucy White, editor of the Rough Guide to Corsica, said: "Unusual traditions and festivals take place all over Corsica - a must-hear is the magical Corsican polyphony."
Summer time is the ideal period of the year to discover the island's artistic life, with hundreds of festivals and performances taking place throughout July and August.
Corsica's most famous polyphony band, I Muvrini, will end their Corsica Tour in Bastia next Monday, performing in San Fiurenzu tonight, Purtichju tomorrow, Campile on Friday and Ile-Rousse on Sunday.
