Gap year holidays are not always expensive, one travel expert has said.
Ben Clifton from volunteering organisation Lattitude has explained that taking time out to travel doesn't always "have to cost the earth".
He said there are a number of companies "who run very reasonable-priced gap year experiences".
"But having said that there are a lot of commercial providers too and it's very easy to pay over the odds," he added.
