Thomas Cook has recorded higher than expected holiday bookings for this summer.
Interest in overseas holidays from Britons has been strong, the company said, with bookings for winter also due to exceed predictions.
However, chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa said the company would be working on ways to offset the rising cost of fuel and "tougher market conditions".
