Driving holidays are undergoing something of a renaissance among UK tourists, according to one ferry company.
Figures from P&O show an increase in the number of people taking their cars on holidays to France with a view to driving once abroad.
A spokesperson for the firm told the Daily Telegraph: "There was a downturn in people taking their cars abroad, but this seems to have reversed as people get disillusioned with airport hassle."
As a result of this emerging trend, P&O has ordered two new ships to cope with increased demand.
