Travelling while pregnant is "perfectly fine" for the majority of women, one expert has said.
In almost all cases, women can fly during pregnancy and do not require any kind of special travel insurance policies.
Stuart Bensusan, director of Essential Travel, has said that it is usually only in exceptional circumstances that pregnant women are advised not to travel or seek out tailored insurance packages.
"With a few exceptions, 99 per cent of pregnant women are perfectly fine and will be covered by a standard travel insurance policy. Expectant mums can relax and make the most of a much-needed break before the big day," he told pregnancy advice website Bounty.
