Destinations across the globe are opening up to holidaymakers seeking an alternative break, one travel expert has said.
Places that were never associated with tourism are now gaining popularity, explained Sharon Livingston from Travel Magazine.
She said that holiday destinations are becoming "more and more friendly to tourists", with some that may have seemed "a little unfriendly" opening up to western visitors.
