Rail travel is undergoing a renaissance as a growing number of tourists look to train journeys as an alternative to flying.
Figures from Amadeus show an increase in the number of travel agent bookings for train travel.
Both leisure and business travellers are choosing to use rail networks, both in the UK and across Europe, as the increased cost of oil continues to push up the price of flights.
Some 40 per cent of travel agents noted an increase in train bookings over the past year, reports TravelMole.
