Older people in the UK are defying the current economic climate and enjoying travel during retirement.
Research from Lloyds TSB has revealed that after a lifetime of working, people in the over 50s bracket are now able to spend money on life's luxuries.
Half of those surveyed by the bank said they have their desired lifestyle, compared to just 30 per cent of those in their 40s and just 36 per cent of under 24s.
Having the freedom and flexibility to take holidays and travel was rated as important by 40 per cent.
