Holidaymakers planning a last-minute holiday in destinations such as Corsica still need to think ahead, according to new advice.
Once a trip is booked, tourists must remember to take out travel insurance and apply for an EHIC card, suggests Defaqto.
The research company suggests that the European medical cards can sometimes take up to three weeks to arrive meaning that travellers will need to apply for one before booking a last-minute deal.
