By far Corsica's most renowned delicacy, the Brocciu is a type of cheese made with goat or ewe's whey.
The Brocciu adds a delicate touch to the island's gastronomy and can be tasted on its own, in a cake, as well as served with meat, fish or pasta dishes.
Producers were given the prestigious AOC label in 1998 which guarantees the origin of the cheese and its process of fabrication.
Numerous restaurants can prepare delicious dishes made with Brocciu on the island, like "Funtana Bianca" in Ghyaliaccu, in Quenza, located about one hour north of Porto-Vecchio near Zonza.
