Travellers from outside the European Union are advised to change their bank notes before boarding their plane to Corsica as they are unlikely to find a bureau de change once on the island.
With the Euro, bureaux de change have widely become redundant on the island and foreign holiday makers are advised to travel with cash in Euros and their credit cards.
A small fee may be applied by banks for the use of credit cards abroad, while Euros are available at most airports worldwide.
