Before heading for Corsica's mountains, do not forget to visit Ponte Leccia and its "Lana Corsa" workshop.
Hats, bags, jumpers and carpets are all presented at this local Ali Baba's cave, full of naturally coloured woollen goods made with the reputedly long and resistant wool of Corsican sheep.
"Lana Corsa" is located in Pont'A Golu U Salgetu, in Ponte Leccia. This is the perfect stopover for curious minds who want to know more about threading and shearing.
The workshop is situated a 20-minute drive north of Corte and a 50-minute drive south of Bastia.
