Corsica's most famous multiple day trek starts in Calenzana, a picturesque village surrounded by mountains and maquis.
Thrill-seekers can fill up their pockets with delicious sweets and traditional Corsican cakes "E cuciulelle" in the village before setting off for this eight-day trek to south Corsica.
The GR20 goes through some of Corsica's most difficult peeks and is better explored in spring or autumn, and with a mountaineering guide.
Calenzana is also the starting point to another popular trek, the "Tra mare e monti" which winds its way along the western coastal route to Cargese, located one and a half hours drive south of Calvi.
