Corsica's Wine Fair's 18th edition will take place in Luri, in the very north of the island, on July 5th and 6th.
Fiera di u Vinu is a unique opportunity for wine amateurs to discover some of Corsica's best traditional vines such as the Ciaccarellu, the Vermentinu, and the Muscatellu.
Last year's gold medal for the red wine was attributed to the "Domaine de Tanella Jean Baptiste de Peretti della Rocca ", which has a guarantee of origin label (AOC) Corse Figari, and the "Clos Ornasca Laetitia Tola-Manenti" won the gold medal for white wine.
Organised by the association Acunfraternita, which was first founded in 1987 to fund the restoration of the village's main religious building, the fair fully reflects the historical importance of the wine growing business in the area.
All proceeds from the event are used to organise other events such as the creation of a wine museum and the organisation of various concerts, exhibitions and workshops.
Corsica currently counts nine AOCs on the island, two of them located around Cape Corsica in the north: Cape Corsica Muscat and Cape Corsica Corse-Coteaux.
