Corsica will host the 2nd Conference of Tourism Ministers of countries in Group 5 + 5 on May the 15th and 16th in Ajaccio.
The "5 + 5" is a forum for informal political dialogue on the main issues on tourism, which includes ten countries bordering the western basin of the Mediterranean: five countries from the Arab Maghreb Union (Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia) and five European Union countries (Spain, France, Italy, Malta and Portugal).
This forum follows the signature of an agreement between Tunisia and France signed on April 30th on cooperation in tourism focusing mainly on vocational training, quality and spas.
"The tourism sector can be a locomotive for the Union project for the Mediterranean (UPM)," said Tunisian Minister of Tourism at a press conference held on this occasion.
Secretary of State french Herve Novelli said that the Conference in Ajaccio, will provide an opportunity for developing a strategy in the field of tourism which will take particular importance in the project of the French government.
