Bastia's Administrative Tribunal is the most efficient one in the whole of France with court proceedings taking on average around seven months, it has been revealed.
The tribunal of Bastia in northern Corsica won the title against 37 other administrative tribunals in France, the Corsican newspaper Corse Matin reports.
This figure represents 50 per cent less than anywhere else in France.
A commission from the Council of State, France's highest administrative court of law, was present in the region Haute-Corse earlier this week to celebrate the national-scale event.
Vice-chairman Jean-Marc Sauve congratulated Lucienne Erstein, who has presided over the tribunal since 2006, and the eight magistrates for their record.
Mr Sauve revealed that most cases were town-planning related on the island, with around two thirds of the litigations connected to planning permission.
