Sport lovers planning to visit Corsica should coincide their holiday with Etienne Meloni's incredible challenge consisting of running for 30 hours non-stop from the very north to the very south of the Beauty Island.
Although doctors believe it is impossible to run for more than 100 kilometres, Meloni, 46, is planning to tackle a 246-kilometre distance and 5,500-metre difference in height from Erza to Bonifacio.
Supporters can participate in the events which are to take place throughout May 23rd and 24th to support the Corsican Foundation and their future initiatives in the fields of education, culture, heath, environment and others, and maybe witness a new world record.
The Corsican runner, who baptised his new challenge A Sfida, has previously been involved in other challenges including a 52-hour swim from Calvi to Nice in France.
Francois Bernardini, a founder of the band I Muvrini, as well as the Corsican Foundation, told Corse Matin: "Etienne is giving us a life lesson. He is one of those people who talk to themselves first before they talk to the world."
