Fascinating and easy to get to, with Corsica's tourism agency's (ATC) new plans for 2008, the beauty island is likely to become Europeans' prime destination choice this summer.
Within the next few months, Corsica will become more accessible from Sardinia, with two new lines to Piombino and Golfo Aranci planned, Corse Matin reports.
Also on the agenda, charter flights are to become more available, regular flights to France are to offer a greater passenger's capacity, and budget airlines will soon be flying to Corsica's main airports, Bastia and Ajaccio.
In just ten years, Corsica's air and sea traffic has already doubled and is set to increase even further.
Bastia's harbour is currently the busiest one on the island, and the second busiest in the whole of France. Indeed, a total of 2,482,560 passengers went through the harbours of Bastia and Ile-Rousse last year.
Bastia's airport Poretta is expecting no less than 4.53 per cent increase in the number of passengers this year, a total of around 911,000 passengers.
Also, thanks to considerable tax reductions put into place as an incentive, from May, 4th to September, 28th, flights to London will cost around 26 and flights to Germany less than 20.
