While camping in general is becoming more and more popular, Corsica remains a particularly sought after destination for nature lovers.
Camping has become a glorious alternative to hotel holidays in Europe, as it combines a fair number of advantages as Keycamp explained.
Camping is indeed more energy efficient and environmentally-friendly, but it also allows visitors to experience "the real Europe and immerse themselves in the local culture and cuisine," said Dave McKenna from the firm.
In Corsica, figures from the Insee show that both foreigners and the French spend three times as many nights in campsites as they do in hotels.
In 2006, only 550,000 nights were spent in hotels compared to 1,450,000 in campsites across the island.
Camping is especially popular among families with children as campsites offer excellent outdoor entertainment as well as considerable opportunities to meet new friends.
According to AA, one in five people are considering buying a more comfortable car in the next 12 months which would be more adapted to a driving trip across Europe for a camping trip.
