Corsica has been voted one of the world's best islands.
Reviewers for the National Geographic Traveler called the French island a "great destination" and praised its sustainable tourism.
Corsica scored 75 out of a potential 100, landing it a top ten spot.
One reviewer described the island's inhabitants as "interesting and friendly" and judged its cuisine "outstanding".
Another wrote: "Somehow the pride of Corsicans has led them to protect their island."
"Tourism seems to be integrated with the community and there is strong emphasis on the independent traveller," said a third.
Some 522 experts reviewed the sustainability of 111 islands and archipelagos for the fourth annual Destination Scorecard survey.
Denmark's Faroe islands came top with a score of 87.
The Azores in Portugal and Norway's Lofoten took second and third place respectively.
Traveler and the National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations conducted the survey, with support from George Washington University.
