Beachside Restaurants
As the coast road straightens towards the village of Abartello, there are a number of restaurants and ample parking overlooking the beach. There is a wide choice of easy meals on offer for all the family from the Restaurants including Pizza, Sandwiches, Pasta and Salads, as well as grilled meats. After lunch why not take a paddle in the sea?
Filitosa
Lying in the countryside of the Taravo valley on the north side of the Valinco Gulf is Filitosa, a collection of menhirs, (from the Celtic maen hir meaning long stone). Filitosa is one of the most important prehistoric sites in Corsica. The oldest findings on the site date back to approximately 6000BC which, with subsequent discoveries, indicate that there was a human population living in caves in this area as early as 3300BC. Allow about one/one and a half-hours to walk around the parkland setting of the stones, and to visit the small museum afterwards.
Beaches
On the D157 there are a number of small coves that are great for snorkelling in. The paths to the coves are pretty easy to find as the beaches are only 25-50m or so from the main road. There is even a track not too far from the apartments.
