Cafes
The cafés around the port are an excellent place to watch the world go by and there are numerous restaurants. Walk or take the tourist train from the port up to the old town at top of the hill. Look over the wall here and you'll see the grain de sable, a massive chunk of limestone cliff that's fallen into the sea, which is the subject of thousands of postcards. The steps here seem never-ending but do lead down to a tiny scrap of beach where you can then turn left to start the cliff top walk.
Restaurants
We took the 5 minute drive to Bonifacio, parked in one of the higher car parks and had a splendid meal with views over the harbour. The Haute Ville is very atmospheric and has a number of restaurants in the warren of medieval streets.
Al fresco dining
The terrace is a great spot to eat out even in the heat of the day. There is a sun awning for shade and a very useable built in barbecue.
Road to the property
Watch out for pot holes on the smaller roads around Bonifacio, drive slowly for your passengers.
