Palombaggia
Arguably the most famous beach on the island, the beach at Palombaggia is one of Corsica's finest and therefore one of its most popular. It was voted one of Europe's top 20 beaches in a poll in the Times and as such it can be very crowded in peak season - and it's easy to see why. An exquisite blend of fine white sand guarded by huge red granite rocks, fronted with gorgeous blue seas and lined with beautiful pine trees. The access road may seem long and it can be crowded in high season, but at any other time of year is well worth a visit.
Drive up to the Col de Bavella
The Col de Bavella is overlooked by the imposing silhouette of one of the most beautiful landscape features of Corsica: les Aiguilles de Bavella (Bavella needles), and even non-walkers can get a grasp of the magnificence of the mountains and spectacular views that the area boasts. The road from the Col de Bavella down towards Solenzara, although narrow in parts and winding, affords great scenery and accesses some fantastic swimming spots in the rock pools of the Polischellu River.
Mosquitos
The area in Porto Vecchio can have mosquitos, so remember to pack an anti-mosquito plug and cream if you are prone to be bitten.
Tennis?
There are tennis courts and table tennis so why not have a game.
