What We Think
Perched on the hillside between Erbalunga and Bastia, Villa Laura offers an authentic Corsican holiday in a truly unspoilt location. Situated just off the famous “Route de la Corniche”, this road offers spectacular views over the lush, maquis-covered mountains of Cap Corse and below towards the Ligurian sea. The property is set in peaceful grounds surrounded by fruit trees and an abundance of fragrant herbs with stone steps and pathways leading to a number of seating areas and terraces from where you can marvel at the panoramic views. The spacious interior is very comfortable, decorated with traditional Corsican furnishings and personal touches offering everything you need from a home-from-home whilst keeping an authentic feel. However, most would undoubtedly agree that the pool area is the key feature of this villa – being a real suntrap all day long, it is perfectly positioned to take in the dramatic views: watch the sun rising over the sea and enjoy the fabulous sunsets behind the mountains. The seaside village of Miomo, home to a small Genoese watchtower and a handful of amenities, is only a 3km drive whilst in the other direction, the pretty village of San Martino di Lota is renowned for having two of the best restaurants in the region. Bastia, with a wider range of facilities and a bustling atmosphere, is also within easy reach.
