What We Think
On arriving at Villa la Rocca, you will instantly be awe-struck by the position, the space and the panoramic view. Perched high on the Fromentica hillside, just below the rocky ridge that gives the property its name, the house has views over the whole bay of St Florent and as far as the Cap Corse mountains, with the Désert des Agriates to the west. The interior is tastefully furnished in a country style and has been arranged with great attention to detail incorporating a number of the owner’s private commissioned paintings, giving the house an individual yet welcoming and homely feel. Well cared for, the gardens are large with Mediterranean shrubs and an impressive expanse of lawn. There are also a number of quiet areas to relax in whilst taking in the view including a lovely pool area with a pleasantly shaded outdoor lounge and seating areas under the trees. A footpath from the gardens will lead you through the surrounding fragrant maquis and along the hillside – a favourite pastime for previous guests. When you eventually tear yourself away from this very comfortable house, with its terraces, pool, large garden and the magnificent view, the beach and St Florent’s restaurants are just a short drive away.
