Travel up the hillside to this perched property and on entering the gate you walk down a few steps to the front door of this very traditional looking house. From this side, built back against the hillside, the villa's first appearance is deceptive but walk through the door and you will discover a very chic French holiday villa. This is my dream villa.

Bedrooms

If a smaller group stay at this villa, make sure you head to the lower level before 'bagging' a bedroom - The huge master and two further colourful, airy rooms occupy the lower floor, each with doors opening directly onto an outside sun terrace.

Ice Cream

Treat yourself at the ice cream parlour in St Florent – There’s far too much choice so try a few samples first... otherwise you'll just have to make a second visit!

Coastal Drive

Jump in the car and head along the coast road to L'lle Rousse, it’s a stunning drive. Stop en route at the view points to admire the picturesque scenery, although be sure to take care on the roads - some parts are steep with sharp bends.

L’Ancre Bleue is the perfect villa for a relaxing holiday, and this stylish and well-­loved home is a real jewel. Perched on the Fromentica hillside with breathtaking views, L’Ancre Bleue is positioned to optimise the stunning panorama over the Gulf of St Florent. With glorious views in every direction, pathways and larger terraced seating areas wrap around the villa and out across the hillside giving guests ample opportunities for shade or sun throughout the day. The interior is tastefully decorated in creams and whites with tiled and wooden floors – there is also an open fireplace and perfectly co­ordinated antique and modern furniture that gives the house a wonderful contemporary French feel. The owner has a great talent for interior design and has collected many interesting pieces that adorn the rooms and add to the stylish look. Full length picture windows open from the living room onto the outside dining terrace and spacious pool area that nestles against the maquis covered hillside, from where there is an 180º view of the Gulf. The accommodation is set over two floors with three bedrooms on the upper living floor, one with sea view and three bedrooms downstairs with sea views.
