Not too far from civilisation, this property was ideally located for the best of both worlds, although it appears to be a little out of the way if you have not yet explored the area. These are really quaint apartments that are smart, clean, bright and set beautifully. The décor is lovely, something really special but the mezzanine is not for tall people, even I had to stoop at one point!

Oletta is a nice village, out of the way but not that remote. We loved nearby Saint Florent (15 minutes drive) and found it a good place to walk around of an evening before eating out - there is so much activity on the port. If you enjoy driving there are also some breathtaking drives around the Cap Corse as long as you don't mind the drops - definitely not for the feint hearted.

APARTMENT TIPS
Tour du Cap Corse

A complete circuit of the Cap Corse will take you about four hours from St Florent (without stops) and we recommend that you always drive in a clockwise direction so that you are always in the inside lane (the road can be narrow and winding and the drops are precipitous). Worth visiting is Nonza, a flower-garnished slate roofed village, which seems to have sprouted from its craggy foundations. Centuri Port makes a great lunch spot as its many restaurants are based around the old fishing port and their menus are reliant on the catch of the day. Tiny fishing ports and sandy coves line the island's east coast - among them rests the picturesque fishing village of Erbalunga.

Visit the Church

A pretty village most famous for its thirteenth century Pisan church San Michele de Murato that sits on a grassy ledge just before entering the village. The church is notable for its square plan, the asymmetrical patterns of limestone and serpentine stone and the sophisticated carvings on its walls.
