Walk to the Mortella tower.
There is a pleasant coastal walk to the Mortella tower, 7km west of St. Florent (be aware there is little shade). The ruined tower is one of the most impressive examples of Genoese architecture in the area. It was built in 1520 as a weapon against piracy; it fell into disuse as a result of its inaccessibility.
Boat trip with Popeye
Take the boat from the port to one of the most unspoilt beaches on the island, Saleccia. Silver sand, backed with the mountains of the Desert des Agriates. The trip takes around 1 hour and you will need your sea legs and it is advisable to take your own refreshments as there are none to be found on the beach.
Harbourside eating
With your prime position perched above the harbourside in St Florent, you can choose to cater for yourself whilst still having the restaurant atmosphere.
