What We Think
Just below the village of Lumio sits Villa U Granu, a charming and traditional property. The beauty of the villa lies in its spacious, peaceful surroundings with sublime views of Calvi Citadel across the bay. The lawned garden offers a distinctly Mediterranean flavour planted with palms, jasmine, oleander and a beautiful bougainvillea that trails over a pergola shading the terrace – the grounds are truly stunning and there is plenty of space for children to run around. Homely and perhaps a little quirky, the villa is comfortable and spacious with ample room in which to relax. The open plan living areas are particularly spacious, comprising a television/study corner with an assortment of books and a large lounge/dining area from where an open staircase leads to the upper floor. A variety of ornaments collected from the owner’s travels are scattered on tables and paintings adorn the walls throughout the ground floor of the villa, giving U Granu an eclectic and somewhat bohemian style. French doors lead to the large terrace complete with a teak table and chairs and on the other side of the house, other doors lead onto the barbecue area. Just a 5-minute drive from Lumio’s Arinella plage with its small sandy coves and beach restaurant, and within easy reach of Calvi, U Granu is a favourite with couples and families alike.
