Villa Gemma is a delightful and contemporary villa in a stunning position below the village of Lumio.
Situated between soaring mountains and majestic sea, Villa Gemma really does feel like a little oasis of relaxation.
Villa Gemma is super stylish with pretty fixtures and furnishings. I visited whilst on an educational and only had the pleasure of a quick whip round taking photos and sulking because I couldn't actually stay there! Its decor is to a really high standard and the pool was so inviting! I am now trying to persuade my family to join me on holiday there as it's got something for everyone. The pool area has ample seating and is fenced off so ideal if you have children. There is plenty of dining space both inside and out and a choice... sun it up or chill in the shade. If you wanted to stay in you could have a bbq or make use of the large, well equipped kitchen and watch a DVD.
Getting out and about is easy and the village of Lumio is only a few minutes drive away (you may even spot a few celebrities!) or a visit to the Calvi citadel is a must. Walk around the cobbled streets for a more authentic side of Corsica or stroll along the marina admiring the huge yachts!
The beach at Arinella (Lumio) is coarse sand so not ideal for sandcastles (for that go to Calvi) but the view across the bay to Calvi is superb. Ideal for paddling with a few rocks creating sheltered areas. You may even see the Foreign Legion parachute over the Bay.
Buy some seafood and have a poolside Barbecue as the sun goes down.
