The views from the apartment are superb but being at the top of the Citadel the steps may get to you after a while! The location is ideal if you are looking to relax for a week with a good book or two, shame there is no balcony although thinking about it - with the winds of Corsica it was probably best. The apartment is simple but cosy and guests love it...

Boat Trip

Take a boat or catamaran trip from Calvi harbour to nearby creeks and scenic bays, and discover the natural beauty of Corsica from the sea. There are trips from the Quai Landry to the Scandola National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

A Scola Tea Shop

This is a lovely “salon de thé” situated directly opposite the entrance to the Cathédrale St Jean Baptiste. It is an excellent  stopping-off point during the day if you are wandering through the streets of the Citadelle, serving salads, tarts, ice creams and home made cakes – and the ‘tarte aux citrons`(lemon tart) is to die for!

Citadel Life

When you pass through the ancient gateway, you find in the Citadel a different world steeped in atmosphere and history. Amongst other historical legends, the citadel also plays host to the house widely thought to have been the birthplace of Christopher Columbus.
