Train trip to Calvi

Calvi or l’Ile Rousse and beyond by train is a fantastic train journey along the beautiful coast- the perfect option for beach hopping or for exploring!

Algajola Beach

The beach at Algajola is huge and wide and is close to the village and various cafés and restaurants. One of the longest beaches in the Balagne, the sandiest part is at the eastern end so requires quite a walk from the car parking area and the sea bed shelves quite steeply. The western end of the beach is more commercialised and rather rocky in parts, but the water is shallower and calmer. The weather conditions mean that it's ideal for watersports.

U Castellu Restaurant

U Castellu Restaurant is situated towards the end of the citadel and serving typical Corsican dishes (and the desserts are delicious!).

Green fingers

Le Parc de Saleccia just the other side of Ile Rousse is a must for garden lovers! The park has a wide range of Mediterranean plants and is great to explore.

Villa Ardoli is a simple two bedroom villa set on a delightful terrace above a private pool, and situated within a couple of minutes walk from the sandy beach and restaurants of Algajola. Generally quiet in low season, the village shakes off its sleepy feel towards the summer months with restaurants and cafés open late and a general buzz of activity. Comfortably furnished and with ample living space, Ardoli is perfect for couples or small families alike. The villa is set in a large enclosed garden with trees and flowers, providing sun and shade throughout the day, a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun by the pool. For those who wish to discover the area, the train station is just a stone’s throw away and the journey to either Calvi or L’Ile Rousse along the coast will remain an unforgettable experience. The coastal railway does pass nearby the villa and from the garden and terrace you will hear at times, the rattling “U Trinighellu” train coming and going. A good value property in the heart of a popular village, this is the ideal base for those wishing to explore the Balagne region.
