Beaches in Ile Rousse
There are three beaches at L’Ile Rousse, the main one being immediately on the opposite side of the railway line from the larger car park in the middle of the town. There is a beach further east of L’Oria restaurant and a smaller beach heading northwest towards the port, where there are also a jet-ski, sea kayak and catamaran hire operators during high season.
Strada di l'Artigiani - Artisan Trail - Discerning Souvenirs
For an interesting day out and some great gifts to take home follow the "Artisan Trail" up through the hilltop villages of the Balagne. In Calenzana you will find delicious homemade biscuits "E Fritelle" and Raku ceramics, there is honey in Moncale, glass blowing and wine in Feliceto, olive oil in Avapessa, jewelery and pottery in Corbara and a number of different crafts - everything from music boxes to printmaking - in Pigna.
Nearby Monticello
Take the short drive to Monticello where the restaurant in the hotel on the square (A Pasturella) is very popular with visitors and locals alike. For the more active there is a high quality tennis club, equestrian centre and even a sports stadium, paying testament to the athleticism of the locals.
